CONDITION: This small hardback book was part of the Cameo Series at Hurst Publishers that was located at 111 Nassau St between 1871 and 1890. The binding is intact, but has numerous wear spots. The pages are brown with age and some have come loose. There are at least a couple of pages that have been folded over at one corner by the original owner to locate certain passages. I read a review that said these were "badly printed, indifferently bound books printed on the cheapest paper". You might call them the mass market books of that day. I found where the series originally sold for about 30 cents when first released. A new owner will need to handle this little book with tender loving care. I would classify the book more of a collector's copy than a readable copy. It is part of my personal collection and has been in storage.
